Names?
Hi guys
As some of you know, we are doing a fundraising night for the exhibition.
WE HAVE BOOKED THE UPSTAIRS ROOM AT TONERS ON LOWER BAGGOT STREET FOR FRIDAY 2ND OF OCTOBER
It's a mask party (ie people wear masks and there are prizes for the best ones) We have a few DJs organised and it's in association with a charity that helps disadvantaged childer'! (Friends of Punho Forte Brazil & Ireland) A percentge of the profits will go to them.
I'm trying to come up with a fun title for it.
So far I've got:
Ugly Bob's Mask Party
Snakey Pete's Party
Bouncing Berts face tings
Dangerous Ken's Mask Party
Gorgeous Bill and the night masks
Dangerous Ken's social shindig soiree where you wear a mask n' stuff (thanks Damien)
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
We're having a little planning meeting this Wednesday.
Contact me if you'd like to get involved.

Birdy Screen Print
This is the piece I was playing around with at the screen-printing workshop a few weeks ago. It's part of a larger project, so you'll be seeing more in the weeks to come.
It's a two-colour screen print (we didn't get to choose the colours though) The image is from an old Nature Library book that I picked up second hand in Chapters.
It's Official!
The dates for the first Tinderbox Network group show "Storytelling" have been confirmed.
The Venue is "This is not a Shop" on Benburb Street, Dublin.
We have the space from Monday 19th to Monday 26th of October.
• set up on Monday and Tuesday
• show to open on 21/22th Wednesday or Thursday (feedback on this please)
• the show will close on Sunday evening and to be taken down on Monday 26th, which is a bank holiday.
So... now. The nitty gritty. We need to raise some funding money. I'm currently working on a proposal letter requesting financing / sponsorship. I need you guys to suggest potential sponsors or to approach people you believe would be willing to contribute a few bob / services. The companies / people who contribute sponsorship money will be promoted and thanked on the night as well as being included on any promotional efforts.
We need to pay for
1. the renting of the space
2. wine and nibbles for the opening
3. promotional material (ie flyers with reference to sponsors)
Those wishing to take part in the exhibition need to get in touch with me as soon as possible. I need to know how many of you will be taking part and how many pieces you'd like to submit so that the space will be used to it's full potential. email: tinderboxnetwork (@) gmail.com
This is your show guys, it will only be what YOU make it.

Return to the future
Paris, Year 2007, Tinderbox was at that time just a secret wish. And now it has become a rolling stone gathering talents from the far North of Europe. It's now your turn to enjoy the pain of dead lines, to share with us the darkest corners of your imagination, to bring the contemporary Irish Culture to the next level. U2 fans and Pub addicts need you!
I look forward to seeing you all at your next exhibition which is taking place very soon, isn't it?

Darren Booth
This guy has some great illustrations and hand-rendered type as well as some nice collages.
I'm on the look out for contemporary collage work and techniques, if anybody has any references for me I'd really appreciate it.

Banners
WOW!
Banner-rama! Great work guys.
Just a note to say the minimum dimensions are 660pixels wide. If it's any smaller than that we can't really use it.
Also, ya don't necessarily have to put "Tinderbox" on it.
No limitations! (um... except minimum size)
Keep up the good work.
