This is my Scribble box picture. It's the first time i think iv completed a painting in about 6 years so im pretty happy with myself :) - even if it is tiny. I am envious of how creative the rest of you were with your interpretation of the clue.. im afraid i took the very bookish approach and thought about what the answer to the clue was (thanks Mark for the answer) and then that made me look into geographical drawings and images which lead to the painting. I always loved doing the little diagrams in geography class so it was a bit like being back there..Anyway, I cant wait to see everyones stuff up on a wall and again claire thank you for this.

I really like that your idea came from geographical drawing, layers of earth and lines on maps. plus you know I love my landscape type paintings and this piece looks beautiful. I like that you used just a small pallet
i m pretty positive if asked i come draw a diagram of how an ox bow lake is formed too our geography teacher was a cow and made us keep a geography dictionary that we had to make our selves and add terms every time we learned a new one but hey it stuck!

Thanks lads, ya i had a couple of great geography teachers, one in particular - she just seemed to really enjoy teaching it so i suppose that rubbed off, and i got to draw so i suppose that's why i liked it, we didnt have an art class in school time (we had to pay for a teacher to once a week after hours)so any chance!

I really like this noirin. The proportions are nicely balanced and the tones work well together, i like it's calmness. Nice work : )
